In addition to writing, Frank is a dedicated runner, having competed in 7 marathons and over 60 other races. “Running is as important for my mental health as my physical”, he will often say. Other activities he enjoys include: backcountry hiking, kayaking, climbing, wine tasting and taking in sunrises and sunsets. He is also an avid hockey fan and of course a devoted reader (as writers are).
Backcountry hiking has been a pursuit of Frank’s his entire adult life. His electronic photo albums are dominated by pictures from hikes on the Berg Lake trail (Mt Robson), the West Coast trail, the Juan De Fuca Trail, Kootenay National Park, Garibaldi and the Black Tusk, Goat Rocks (in southern Washington State), Haleakala, and the Grand Canyon.
He has five adult children who all live in BC and enjoy many of these activities with him.

He has completed course programs in negotiations and mediation and previous completed formal training in natural resource and parks management. While a novice writer for many decades, which includes short stories and the long annual family Christmas letters, Frank self-published his first novel in the spring of 2020 (just as the covid-19 pandemic had hit). Momentum’s Force is a suspense filled family drama that offers life lessons through the characters.
His second novel – The Friendly World Virus – was published in 2023. It is based in Washington, DC in 2032. An adventurous thriller novel with dystopian overtones. A coming of age novel for the Gen Z adults who are navigating a world that changes overnight after a shocking event. Chaos soaks into all aspects of daily living. The protagonist, Livie, is forced to choose between two sides as each promises a saner and friendlier world. Which side will you be cheering for?
His debut novel was Momentum’s Force.

The ghost of the internet would loom over her life and determine if she was to be a villain or a hero.
November 4, 2032
Having put out the last of the snacks, Livie looks out the window of her thirteenth- floor Belmont Street condo. Her eyes roam across the view—which her realtor described as “stunning”—promising that in daylight, she would be able to see the White House and the Washington Monument. The thought draws Livie’s eyes up to the realtor’s gift—a sheer, magnifying blind that, when pulled down, enlarges the view from the window. She pushes her slight, five-foot-one frame up to grab the blind but then let’s go of it, as if it would be too much bother to pull it down.
Livie tucks a few loose stands of her blond hair behind her ear. She diverts her gaze from the rolled-up blind and squints in the direction of the White House. She wonders who might occupy that bastion of power when this night was over—as if a revelation of the evening’s outcome would suddenly appear.
Her gaze drops to the vehicles below. The driverless vehicle lane moves smoothly as vehicles—with solar-panel roofs—travel at the same speed, like a line of wagons on a train track.
Livie can’t see the faces of those who remain unmoving in the parking lot of the other lanes, but she can feel their sad, tired expressions. The sound of their windshield wipers play in her head, swiping from side to side like a metronome racing time. Would the gloom brought by the rain and wind prove to be a harbinger of the night’s conclusion? The cold drizzle outside seems to fall in defense of her mood.
