Who is Frank?
Frank has called British Columbia, Canada his home all his life. He grew up in east Vancouver and spent over twenty-five years living in the interior. Kamloops was his home for twenty years.
Frank loves nature and is vocal in his beliefs of fairness, inclusiveness, environmental protection and rights for woman and indigenous people. He prides himself as being someone who truly engages in life, with many passions and hobbies. Writing is a passion of his – with its highs and lows, its clear sailings and views abscured by fog.
In addition to writing, Frank is a dedicated runner, having competed in 5 marathons and over 40 other races. “Running is as important for my mental health as my physical”, he will often say. Other activities he enjoyes include: backcountry hiking, kayaking, climbing, wine tasting and taking in sunrises and sunsets. He is also an avid hockey fan and of course a devoted reader (as writers are).
Backcountry hiking has been a pursuit of Frank’s for over thirty years. His electronic photo albums are dominated by pictures from hikes on the Berg Lake trail (Mt Robson), the West Coast trail, the Juan De Fuca Trail, Kootenay National Park, Goat Rocks hike (in southern Washington State) and the Grand Canyon.
He has five adult children who all live in BC and enjoy many of these activities with him.
Professionally, he works in a leadership role for a trade union and is frequently in the role as a negotiator or problem solver. He has completed course programs in negotiations and mediation and previous completed formal training in natural resource and parks management. In recent years he has completed courses in creative writing and participated in the annual Surrey International Writers’ Conference.
While a novice writer for many decades, which includes short stories and the long annual family Christmas letters, Frank self-published his first novel in the spring of 2020 (just as the covid-19 pandemic had hit). Momentum’s Force is a suspense filled family drama that offers life lessons through the characters.
His second novel – The Friendly World Virus – is completed and ready for review for beta readers. To be a beta reader, please contact Frank at author@franknanderson.ca

A preview…
Her gaze drops to the vehicles below. The driverless vehicle lane moves smoothly as vehicles – with solar panel roofs – travel at the same speed, like a line of wagons on a train track.
She can’t see the faces of those in the moving parking lot of the other lanes, but can feel their sad, tired expressions. The sound of their windshield wipers play in her head, swiping from side to side like a metronome racing time. Will the gloom the rain and wind are bringing be a harbinger of the night’s conclusion? The cold drizzle outside seems to fall in defense of her mood.
The ghost of the internet would loom over her life and decide if she was to be a villain or a hero…
